Dear Donna, Pascha and Margie:
\JI am writing this to the three of you because I have some things to say to
Margie and I did not want to let the opportunity go by without telling Donna and
Pascha that I did enjoy seeing their Paris abode in spite of my bad health
at the time. I still advise people that the Nile trip is worth while altho
Bernice is not so sure but that it is too rugged for people of our age group.
Now as to my information for Margie- The Swan people are getting restive
because they want the completed Declaration Form which Bernice sent in an earlier
letter. I sent word to them that they already had all of the necessary
information on the form that you submitted for the Nile cruise but they
came back with word that this was not enough and that they had to have the
actual form in hand before they could advice the immigration people in
Athens and at all of the ports to be wisited. If you have not already
sent this form off, I suggest that you send it to W.F. and R.K. Swan Lld. at
Kings Court, 2-16 Goodge Street, London, W1P 2EU, England and let me know that
you have done this.
There is also the matter of your tickets. Either you can pick them up in
Athens at Swan's representatives Horizon Travel and Tourist Agents,
14 Nikis treet, Athens 118 (phone 32 33 114), or I can have them sent to
my London Hotel and we can meet at the pier in Pireus. The plane is due to arrive
at 3:25 and I plan to let Swan provide the transportation to Pireus scheduled
for arrival there in time for a 6:00 embarkation. I could of course get into
Athens on my own and meet you there but we would not have much time to do anything.
There are two optional excursions that one can take in Athens, one to Sounion
to see the ruined 5th century Temple of Poseidon
and the other to Brauron, to see the recently uncovered Temple of Artemis and
the Tomb of Iphigeneia. These leave the air port on our arrival and get one back
to the ship for embarkation at 8:15. This seems to be a rushing things a bit.
However, if you would particularly like to take one of these, you could join the
group at the air port and I would be willing to go along. They each cost $4.50.\.
